TxDot Unveils New Upgrades To Sh 71 In Bastrop Over The Colorado River

Construction on the Texas 71 highway improvement project is officially underway. The 50.4 million dollar endeavor looks to fix and improve the Texas 71 in Bastrop over the Colorado River. The project includes new bridges, widening, with new entrance and exit ramps near the river. Both the Mayor of Bastrop and TxDOT representatives see the project as a big positive. They believe that the improvements will help provide benefits to the local community; as well as helping mobility, ease of access, and safety.

The project will begin this month and is expected to be completed by late 2022. Construction will consist of two stages to produce the many bridges across Texas 71. This effort is part of a wider effort to improve traffic flow on and across the highway.
